Meet Joyce

Joyce Kohn

strategic development consultant

Joyce is a strategic development and communications consultant with 25+ years of executive level experience and carries a personal passion for bringing together communities to create lasting impacts. She has specialized expertise in the areas of fundraising, sales, marketing, and public relations, leadership development and special events. In addition, she is also co-founder of The Sunday Supper, a non-profit bore out of Hurricane Matthew relief, dedicated to bringing communities together to help others in need.

As an individual with an established footprint in North Carolina, Joyce has a knack for understanding the needs of for-profit entities and the devotions of non-profits within the state. In addition to her work with traditional clients, Joyce has also led various bond related initiatives across the state, as part of a bi-partisan team of professional consultants, working with organizations to find the funding necessary to successfully bring bond referendums to the attention of voters. This unique experience allows her to hone in on individualized issue advocacy work and help create the change North Carolinians want for their state.

While serving as a consultant, Joyce also sits in leadership positions on a wide range of nonprofit initiatives. Philanthropy is a “two-way street,” and by having a hand in both sides of causes, she is able to craft relevant development plans and monitor implementation to ensure maximum impact is reached and resources, no matter how limited, are used effectively.

Joyce holds a B.S. from East Carolina University and is a mother to two sons, Joshua, a senior at Appalachian State University and Zachary, a freshman at Louisiana State University. Joyce is a proud North Carolinian and enjoys her work around the state but will always hold a special affinity for the people, food, history and culture of Eastern North Carolina.
